Originally founded in 1980 by Peter Ross, PA Ross established Cheshire Wholefoods,
Nichol Beauty Products, Victoria Foods, Judges Honey and Intergoods Cookies.
In 1987 PA Ross and Cheshire Wholefoods were acquired by Wessanen.
The organisation continued as before but also sold for Wessanen Group Companies: De Graaf Cakes, Kemps Frozen Yoghurts, Baars Dairy (the Leerdammer brand), and after Telford Foods was acquired Dailycer (cereal and cereal bars).
PA Ross has established an enviable reputation for its attitude, professionalism, speed to market, its knowledge of its markets and its customers, its service levels, and above all else for trying harder to do what it promised.
Over the years the team has worked with all levels of the UK Retailers from Director to Stock Control to ensure that both the Retailer's and the Clients's needs are understood.
"I would like to thank our coach for his involvement so far in the High Growth Initiative. Although we are only part way through at the moment the programme has strongly influenced our company. The writing of a three year plan is easy if you make the time, but writing one that everyone supports and considers to a be a stretching challenge but an achievable one takes skill. Thank you for the coaching and support with this.
The plan has helped us to discuss some key objectives and to review some of the challenges that will help us get there as well as those that could prevent us too.
We have assessed that:
1. Our team needs training - Mentor group booked for next month
2. Our team needs enlarging - advert on Internet currently
3. Our accounting package needs replacing or upgrading - Navision presentation today
and logistics consultant working for 8 weeks
4. We are looking at the way we run meetings to enhance efficiency
5. We are revising workloads
6. We are taking legal advice over our supplier contracts
7. We are reviewing the way that we communicate
I hope that you can see from this that you and the project are having a long reach in to how we do business now and in the future. We are confident that these steps are preparing us well for the next year and will enable us to perform better than we would have done.
Thank you for your help, guidance and encouragement so far.”
