Skin Solutions Ltd distribute cosmetic products in the UK. The company was started by Natalie Roche who had some experience in the Beauty and Cosmetics Sector and identified a range of products called Xen-Tan from the U.S, which she believed were far superior than current products on sale in the UK. In true entrepreneurial style, Natalie simply hopped on a plane and secured the exclusive Distributorship for the UK!
Skin Solutions joined the High Growth Programme in 2009, which was the company’s third trading year. Natalie had introduced the Xen-Tan brand to a number of beauty salons and consumers via her website and also made her first sales to department stores including Selfridges and House of Fraser, all this whilst still working from home.
Sales were flying, but there was no up to date financial information and no real structure to the organisation. Jennie Morgan, the company’s High Growth Programme coach, helped Natalie to understand the importance of the business disciplines necessary to underpin sales performance. By the time the coaching was completed, the finance function was outsourced, monthly Board meetings were being held and the business had purchased its own premises – with a clear plan for expansion
